Penggunaan is,am,are,do,does (Practice 4)

PRACTICE 4.

Simple present and present progressive.

Masih tentang penggunaan do, does, is, am, are, atau tidak menggunakannya dalam sebuah kalimat, penggunaan tobe (is,am,are) dapat diterapkan dalam kalimat positive, negative ataupun interogative, sedangkan penggunaan aux. verb (do/does) hanya berlaku pada kalimat negative dan interrogative, sedangkan pada kalimat positive, tidak perlu menggunakan auxiliary verb ini (do/does). Kita akan ambil contoh kalimat sebelum mengerjakan latihan dibawah.

Contoh :

1.      She ….. has beautiful black long hair. (tidak perlu memakai apapun karena sudah ada kata kerja “has”)

2.      They …….. not have any money. ( jawaban yang benar adalah “do”, karena itu adalah kalimat negative dan mempunyai kata kerja “have”, sedangkan subjectnya “they”)

3.      Maria …… studying English. ( jawaban yang benar adalah “is”, karena dalam kalimat tersebut ada kata kerja “ing” yaitu “studying” dan subjeknya “she”)

Lalu, apa yang harus kita perhatikan dalam membedakan present tense dan present continous ini:

1.      Perhatikan kata kerja yang digunakan, apakah memakai Ving? Kalo iya, gunakan tobe (is,am,are) 
2.      Bila tidak ada kata kerjanya, bisa dipastikan itu memakai tobe (is,am,are)
3.   Dalam kalimat positive, jangan memakai do/does

Nah, sekarang coba kita berlatih dengan latihan dibawah ini:

PRACTICE 3.

Penggunaan do, does, is, am, are ataupun tanpa do, does, is, am, are dalam suatu kalimat terkadang membingungkan bagi nereka yang baru belajar bahasa inggris, kali ini saya akan memberikan sedikit tip dan latihannya untuk pemula. Perlu diketahui bahwa dalam present tense penggunaan do dan does harus selalu diikuti dengan kata kerja, sedangkan is,am,are tidak diikuti kata kerja.

ingat :
do, does : diikuti kata kerja
is,am,are : diikuti kata sifat, dan kata keterangan.

jadi bagaimana kita membedakan harus memakai does, atau is???
lihat saja dalam kalimatnya, apakah ada kata kerja atau tidak. gampangkan????
contoh :

....... she cook in the kitchen?

kalimat "..... she cook in the kitchen" ada kata kerjanya yaitu "cook", maka kita harus memakai "does", sehingga jawaban dari pertanyaan diatas adalah " does she cook in the kitchen?"

contoh lagi :

....... she in the kitchen

kalimat "........ she in the kithen" tidak ada kata kerjanya, maka kita harus memakai "is", sehingga jawaban dari pertanyaan diatas adalah "Is she in the kitchen?"
